Criminal Law Defence Support for Dentists
Dentists Legal Service provides legal advice to dentists who are facing proceedings in the magistrates courts and crown court, whether connected with work or domestic life. This will often be due to mistakes being made rather than there being an intention to defraud the NHS. We can assist dentists to present evidence that is favourable to the defence.
We also defend dentists facing CQC procecutions for being in breach of Care Quality Commission regulations.
Dental practitioners should inform the GDC of their being charged or convicted of a crime, or where they are given a police wrning or police caution. We can advise on how to provide mitigating evidence to the GDC. On some occasions, only limited information should be conveyed to the GDC.
